LATEST: 9% of French Adults Own Crypto Assets, Signaling Generational Shift in Investment Preferences

France’s Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) reports a sharp rise in crypto asset ownership among French adults, with 9% holding crypto assets in 2023. Notably, younger individuals under 35 are driving this trend, influenced by digital trends and social networks. While traditional investments still dominate portfolios, 54% of new investors, especially those aged 25-34, own crypto assets compared to only 25% of traditional investors. However, the AMF study highlights the need for improved financial education, as many new investors lack understanding of investment fundamentals. The trend reflects a generational shift towards digital finance solutions.

Bithumb plans to be first crypto exchange listed on Korea stock market: Report

Crypto exchange Bithumb plans to become the first digital asset company to go public on the South Korean stock market.

Bithumb declined to confirm whether the IPO was going ahead but admitted they had recently selected an underwriter, a company tasked with guaranteeing the financial security of another typically before a firm goes public. Bithumb chose Samsung Securities as its potential IPO underwriter, according to Edaily….

Bitcoin: Redefining Ownership

This article is featured in Bitcoin Magazine’s “The Withdrawal Issue”. Click here to subscribe now.

A PDF pamphlet of this article is available for download.

The traditional way in which our society constructs ownership is inefficient. The Uber-for-X model solves part of the problem by exploiting the unused value of some long-tail assets, but the reason behind the existence of such a huge volume of long-tail assets remains a puzzle. In this essay, I submit that they exist because our conception of ownership is outdated; I propose that individuals only need to own bitcoin. By doing so, we will embrace a full-scale sharing economy backed by…

Trading Essentials: How To Trade The Bullish Flag Pattern

Today, let’s break down the Bullish Flag pattern, a popular formation signaling potential upward price movements.

Here’s your quick guide:

  • Spot the Flag Pole: Begin by identifying a strong upward trend. This is your ‘flag pole’.
  • Look for the Flag: After the climb, watch for a slight downtrend or consolidation phase—this forms your ‘flag’.
  • Measure the Retracement: If the price pulls back more than 50% of the flag pole’s height, it’s probably not a flag pattern. Ideally, it should not retrace more than 38%.
  • Entry Point: Consider buying at the bottom of the flag or wait for a breakout above the flag’s upper boundary.
  • Set a Price Target: Once you’re in, aim for a price target that matches the initial flag pole’s length, projected upwards from the breakout point.

Remember, this is just a pattern. Always use stops and manage your risk properly.

Interoperability isn’t just a buzzword

The essence of blockchain has always been about open-source and decentralization, about building something together without any single entity in control.

However, as the ecosystem has expanded, many blockchains have become isolated silos, lacking the infrastructure and capability to communicate with each other. This isolation hinders the true potential of a unified and interconnected blockchain ecosystem, further stressing the importance of cross-chain messaging protocols.

When it comes to blockchains, interoperability is not just a buzzword. It’s a quintessential factor driving the trajectory towards a more connected and inclusive crypto ecosystem. Cross-chain platforms are…

Crypto hiring: Projects stock up on growth roles

Growth emerged as a major hiring priority this week.

The Uniswap Foundation, a non-profit aiming to grow the Uniswap protocol, hired Bita Abolfathi as a growth manager. The hire was greenlit as part of the proposal for the Uniswap Foundation’s $46 million grant from the Uniswap DAO.

Abolfathi told Blockworks that as someone who dropped out of college, she appreciates the Uniswap Foundation’s willingness to disburse grants to deserving builders regardless of credentials.

“I was drawn to the Uniswap Foundation because they recognize that advancing DeFi’s impact on the world requires robust support — both intellectual and financial — for the most talented individuals and…

Pre-ETF BTC price ‘crash’ or $150K in 2025? Bitcoin forecasts diverge

Bitcoin (BTC) will “most likely” see a serious price drawdown before a key date for institutional investors dawns, says gold bug Peter Schiff.

In recent X activity, the longtime Bitcoin skeptic sounded the alarm over recent BTC price gains.

Schiff bets on a BTC price “crash” before ETF launches

Bitcoin is a favoirte topic of criticism for Peter Schiff, the chief economist and global strategist at asset management firm Europac.

Throughout the years, he has repeatedly insisted that unlike gold, Bitcoin’s value is destined to return to zero, and that no one in fact wishes to hold it except in order to sell higher later on.

Now, with BTC/USD circling 18-month highs, he has turned his…

In a report published on Friday, renowned credit rating agency Moody revised its outlook on the U.S. economic state. The agency announced a US credit rating downgrade, moving it from “stable” to “negative,” intensifying concerns over the nation’s fiscal health.

This move, attributed to significant fiscal deficits and diminishing debt affordability, echoes a similar downgrade by Fitch earlier this year.

The US Credit Rating Downgrade: “Negative”

The U.S. government’s fiscal policies and the increasing political polarization have been key worries for investors. Notably, this has contributed to a sell-off that has pushed government bond prices to their lowest levels in 16…
