Forget cat memes. The next crypto bull market will be driven by TradFi.

Get ready for the next crypto marketing surge, but don’t expect it in your inbox.

Consider how financial institutions market their ETFs. Some, like VanEck, target the Web3 community publicly on platforms like X. That is visible to everyone.

But most firms will market their ETFs to their traditional audience, the traditional way: private, 1×1 outbound marketing and events. The recipients of this campaign will be traditional finance stalwarts, more familiar with blue chips than private keys.

Imagine a financial advisor with a sales target emailing their affluent clientele. They’re sharing articles about blockchain technology’s potential, discussing the impressive ROI of the…

Marathon Digital pushes into Paraguay amid ongoing expansion

Marathon Digital continues to expand its footprint as part of diversification efforts that double as cost-reduction measures ahead of the bitcoin halving.

The Florida-based bitcoin miner is building a new 27-megawatt project in Paraguay powered by hydro energy. This marks Marathon’s second international deployment, the company said Tuesday.

Marathon is partnering with Penguin Infrastructure Holding to establish a new operation near Paraguay’s Itaipu Dam. The company said it aims to achieve 1.1 exahash per second (EH/s) of computing power by the beginning of next year.

LATEST: Whales Show Strong Interest in Cardano’s ADA, Investing Over $600 Million

Cardano’s native token ADA has attracted significant investment, totaling over $600 million, primarily from heavyweight investors within the $0.249 to $0.271 price range, as reported by analytics firm IntoTheBlock. Analysis of ADA’s ownership distribution shows varying dynamics, with small-scale holders experiencing a marginal decrease, while those with larger holdings, especially over $10 million, are notably bullish. Cardano’s rise in total value locked (TVL) indicates growing interest in its DeFi sector, potentially challenging Bitcoin’s position in the DeFi hierarchy. Despite this activity, ADA remains relatively stable at $0.337225 with a $11 billion market cap.

Bitcoin Ordinals see resurgence on Binance listing

Ordinals, a BRC-20 token collection minted on the Bitcoin blockchain, have surged by 40.8% in the past 24 hours to $10.19 after listing on crypto exchange Binance.

According to Binance’s Nov. 7 announcement, traders can now trade Ordinals (ORDI) against Tether (USDT), Bitcoin (BTC), and the Turkish Lira (TRY). Binance claims that it did not charge developers any listing fees for the ORDI token and that withdrawals will open on Nov. 8. As part of initial incentives, the first 1,000 users who deposit at least 72 ORDI to the exchange received a 50 USDT trading rebate voucher.

“ORDI is a relatively new token that poses a higher than normal risk, and as such will likely be subject to high… Read more on Cointelegraph

Custodia Bank debuts segregated custody accounts service

Custodia Bank is now offering to hold bitcoin for businesses, as the crypto-friendly company looks to tout a different custody model than some competitors.

Custodia’s Bitcoin custody platform, designed for fiduciaries, investment advisers, fund managers and corporate treasurers, is now operational in select US states, the company said in a Tuesday X post.

Certain bitcoin custody models have become “infamous,” Custodia CEO Caitlin Long said in the company’s bitcoin custody white paper — noting the failures of Mt. Gox, FTX and Prime Trust.

Custodia looks to offer a “property-rights-respecting bitcoin custody service” by using segregated accounts, Long added, which…

Who is this person anyway?

Irene Zhao, the Simp-Queen mastermind behind the SO-COL platform and a Crypto Twitter influencer, explains that having a celebrity in your corner can turbocharge your NFT collection.

Zhao’s first Simp DAO and NFT collection, IreneDAO, started with a floor price that was basically pocket change in ETH.

“I think it was about zero-point-something ETH,” Zhao recalls.

However, the game changed for Zhao when controversial YouTube star Logan Paul threw in around a quarter of a million dollars in January 2022.

“The next day, I woke up, the floor price went up five times when Logan Paul bought about 20 pieces or something. I was…

Exploring Bitcoin in the University: Preparing A Foundation For Widespread Adoption

The unexpected message I got from a student was simple enough: “Any chance you’re doing any sort of independent study regarding crypto or anything of that nature?” I had no intention of teaching a course on crypto. But I had been thinking of offering a course on Bitcoin. This was the prompt I needed.

As a university engineering educator and a bitcoiner, I am acutely aware that education about Bitcoin is crucial to the full realization of its potential. The intrinsic properties of Bitcoin make it a sound foundation for a new monetary system. However, it will have to grow significantly in the emergent property of wide acceptance before it can challenge the status quo. Acceptance will…
