Sam Bankman-Fried will not haunt us forever

How many people know who Bernie Madoff is? I’m willing to bet that in your family, or broader friend group, maybe one or two have heard of him — but even they can’t really pinpoint what he actually did. (For those wondering, he was a Wall Street money manager who ran the largest Ponzi scheme of all time.)

My bet is the same goes for Sam Bankman-Fried. Although many think the scar left behind by Sam will live on forever, I reckon it’s no more than a bad bruise.

For the past year, nobody has been able to escape the frizzy-haired fiasco caused by Bankman-Fried. Crimes notwithstanding — there’s crypto publications to thank for that — people have reported obsessively on…

Uniswap launches Android wallet app with built-in swap function

Uniswap Labs has publicly released an Andriod mobile wallet app with built-in swap capability on the Google Play store.

The new app allows users to make swaps through the decentralized exchange (DEX) from within the app, eliminating the need for a separate web browser extension, Uniswap Labs vice president of design Callil Capuozzo told Cointelegraph.

The app was released in a closed beta on Oct.12, but this is the first time the Android version has become available to the general public. An iOS version was released in April.

Uniswap rolls out crypto wallet for Android users

The Uniswap wallet will now be available to all Android users shortly following its beta launch in October.

Users can swap tokens between multiple chains, including Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base and BNB Chain — with more networks to be integrated in the future.

Swaps will be protected by an MEV blocker that offers “swap protection,” which will place transactions into a private transaction pool, thus preventing frontrunning and sandwich attacks.

Uniswap is the largest decentralized exchange by trade volume currently processing more than $1.5 billion in daily volume. The protocol has a total value locked of $3.6 billion and the market cap of its native token, UNI, is $3.9…

I spent a week working in VR. It was mostly terrible, however… – Cointelegraph Magazine

I just spent an entire week working in virtual reality using the new Meta Quest 3. While the experience still mostly sucked, I came away with some renewed optimism for VR in the workplace.

As I took Ron’s outstretched, virtual hand for a handshake, my actual hand — in the real world — clumsily whacked into the side of my desk.

Ron from Microsoft showing how to use hand gestures to interact with the menu and other useful shortcuts in the Immersed app.

Ron started laughing, his avatar’s animated facial expressions mimicking his real face thanks to his device’s eye and facial tracking technology.

A project manager at Microsoft, Ron tells me it’s something…

Bitcoin has well and truly cemented its exit from a sub-$30,000 trading range, which characterized the market for much of 2023, Filbfilb believes.

Having overcome a multitude of resistance levels, the question for Bitcoin bulls now is how price action will turn out into the halving.

Due in April 2024, less than five months remains until the event, and Filbfilb…

FTX, BlockFi claims settlement allowed to proceed, judge declares

Bankrupt crypto companies FTX and BlockFi have been allowed to proceed in negotiations for their claims settlement, according to a new court filing.

On Nov. 13, United States bankruptcy judge Michael Kaplan ordered the end of an automatic holding placed on proceedings between the two firms. FTX debtors can now pursue their “arguments, defenses, counterclaims, setoffs, or otherwise” concerning the BlockFi claims in the FTX bankruptcy proceeding.

Both entities filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy status in November of 2022, after the implosion of FTX at the beginning of that month. BlockFi is estimated to have had around $355 million in funds frozen on the FTX platform, with an additional $671…
