U.S. presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, continues to support Bitcoin via his campaign and has vowed to protect the digital asset from the United States government. The American entrepreneur and millionaire claims that U.S. authorities are “threatened by the existence of Bitcoin.”

In an interview with TheStreet’s Natalie Brunell on November 16, the presidential candidate stated that if Bitcoin becomes more popular, it would create “a threat to the incumbent status of the US Federal Reserve itself” while adding that if he is elected president, his government plans on “staying the heck out of the business of those who are innovating.”

Argentina elects pro-Bitcoin president Javier Milei

A runoff election in Argentina, Sunday, resulted in a win for Javier Milei, a libertarian on the political right who wants to dollarize the country’s economy and has expressed support for Bitcoin.

Milei won about 56% of the vote versus just over 44% in the runoff, in Latin America’s third most populous nation.

In a country which has recently witnessed triple-digit rates of inflation, Milei sees bitcoin and digital currencies as an effort to “return money to its original creator: the private sector.”

Poloniex says hacker’s identity is confirmed, offers last bounty at $10M

Crypto exchange Poloniex recently posted a message to the hacker responsible for stealing over $100 million in digital assets from one of its wallets saying that they’ve identified the person and are giving the perpetrators a chance to return the assets in exchange for a $10 million bounty. 

An on-chain message shared by blockchain security firm PeckShield on social media shows Poloniex’s message to the hacker. According to the exchange, they have already confirmed the hacker’s identity. The exchange further highlighted that they are working with various law enforcement agencies from the United States, Russia and China.

Crypto ETP volumes surge 91%, outpacing underlying assets — Report

Global cryptocurrency exchange-traded products (ETP) have seen a significant uptick in 2023, reportedly outpacing the growth of underlying assets, according to a report by digital asset platform Fineqia.

Crypto-based ETPs issued by companies like 21Shares, Grayscale and CoinShares recorded a 91% increase in total assets under management (AUM) from Jan. 1 to Oct. 31, 2023, Fineqia reported.

The surge of crypto ETPs has outperformed the growth of underlying digital assets by 30%, as cryptocurrencies had comparatively slower growth of around 70% over the same period.

Dydx V3 hit by ‘targeted attack,’ linked to YFI price manipulation

Around $9 million in dYdX v3’s insurance fund, roughly 40% of its total v3 funds, was used to process liquidations after an organized attack this weekend. 

According to dYdX founder Antonio Juliano, the open interest (OI) for YFI, DeFi protocol Yearn Finance’s native token, had spiked from $0.8 million to roughly $67 million on the decentralized exchange (DEX), trading at a significantly higher price than other perpetual trading platforms.
