BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, has chosen Coinbase Custody Trust Company as the custodian for its proposed spot Ether ETF. The ETF will also use the CME CF Bitcoin Reference Rate from CF Benchmarks, a subsidiary of Kraken, as its benchmark, aligning with the choices made for its spot Bitcoin ETF. BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF filing is currently awaiting SEC approval, with multiple spot Bitcoin ETF applications under review. Major trading firms are in talks to provide liquidity if the ETF gets regulatory approval, boosting Bitcoin’s recent price rally.
