A new decree, part of Argentina’s ‘Bases for the Reconstruction of the Argentine Economy’, now permits the use of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for contracts and payments. This move, revealed in a Dec. 21 post, marks a major step in economic deregulation and reform. Though the decree, passed on Dec. 20, doesn’t explicitly mention cryptocurrencies, it allows for payments in non-traditional currencies, thereby officially integrating digital assets into Argentina’s financial system.
