Bitcoin price rally sparks record ETF inflows of over $1B

The 10 US spot bitcoin ETFs collectively shattered its daily net inflow record Tuesday as more than $1 billion of investor assets entered the funds. 

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) was again the category standout, notching an all-time high daily inflow total of $849 million, according to BitMEX Research data. 

The Ark 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB) and the VanEck Bitcoin Trust contributed above-average flows of $93 million and $83 million, respectively. 

The boost for VanEck’s product comes after the company said it would waive its 0.20% sponsor fee on the first $1.5 billion of fund assets until March 31, 2025.

Coinbase announces offering of $1B in convertible notes

Coinbase announced a proposed offering of $1 billion in convertible notes on Tuesday.

The notes would mature in 2030, according to the company, and would be offered to institutional investors. 

“Coinbase also expects to grant the initial purchasers of the notes a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional $150 million principal amount of notes solely to cover over-allotments,” the company said. The company will elect to convert the notes into cash, shares of Class A stock or a combination. 

The crypto exchange will use the proceeds from the offering for “general corporate purposes” and will also use the funds to pay or repurchase 0.50% convertible senior notes due 2026,…

Stocks recover, cryptocurrencies slip sideways on CPI data 

Bitcoin and ether faltered slightly Tuesday afternoon in New York while stocks rebounded after an initial slip on disappointing annual inflation numbers. 

The S&P 500 was trading about 1% higher at time of publication while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite gained 1.3%. 

Bitcoin (BTC), after posting another record-high of just under $73,000 Monday, lost 0.7% Tuesday. Ether (ETH) was also trading lower, dropping 1% at time of publication.
