BlackRock Makes Historic DeFi Move As Uniswap Deal Sends UNI 15% – BlackRock (NYSE:BLK)

Uniswap (CRYPTO: UNI) spiked 15% after BlackRock (NYSE:BLK) on Wednesday integrated its $1.8 billion BUIDL token onto UniswapX, purchasing an undisclosed amount of UNI tokens.

According to a press release, BlackRock will bring its Treasury-backed digital token BUIDL onto Uniswap, where institutional traders can buy and sell it through UniswapX technology. 

The world’s largest asset manager also purchased UNI tokens as part of the deal.

Uniswap Labs partnered with tokenization firm Securitize to enable on-chain trading of BUIDL. 

The integration creates near-instant liquidity between BUIDL and USDC for investors through 24/7 trading, 365 days per year.

Ripple Wins Aviva Deal For XRP Ledger, But XRP Dips Towards $1.30

Ripple on Wednesday partnered with Aviva Investors to tokenize traditional fund structures on the XRP Ledger, yet XRP (CRYPTO: XRP) is down 1%.

Aviva Investors, the asset management arm of UK insurer Aviva, will work with Ripple to bring traditional financial assets to the XRP Ledger, according to a press release.

DDC Enterprise Limited ($DDC) announced it has acquired an additional 100 Bitcoin, bringing its total holdings to 1,988 BTC as the company continues to expand its corporate treasury strategy.

The purchase marks the fifth consecutive week of Bitcoin acquisitions for DDC, which said the transaction was executed following a recent pullback in BTC prices rather than as a response to short-term market moves.

The company reported an average cost basis of $85,756 per Bitcoin. The current price of bitcoin is roughly 21% lower than an $85,756 cost basis.

Denmark-based Danske Bank will now allow customers to invest in cryptocurrency-linked products tied to Bitcoin, marking a shift for Denmark’s largest lender after years of resistance to the asset class.
